That was one of the items that to this day, I still have a deep-seated hatred for that. On Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, etc., unless it was Sunday (and sometimes even if it was), we were at "work" at our job assignments. I mentally began "celebrating" the holidays once I left the 'big house.'

Holidays at Bethel
by darth frosty ini never knew how important holidays were till i went to bethel.
of course as a witness you back away from the workplace and school holiday celebrations and sometimes, if you worked in a job that was open on holidays, you would work for the extra money or whatever.
i never realized how important holidays were till i got to bethel and had to hike over to the factory on thxgiving day, christmas day and new years day.

It's a fucking joke for the WTS to continue offering bethel service. That's just like a corporation who after laying off 1/3 of their staff taking applications. It kills me how in the newboy lectures, there was a section on how newboys could make bethel service a career. After their downsizing, even the publishing company has been demystified into just being like any other company affected by the economy......

That putrid smell that is tickling your nose is the turd-like ambiance that we know as the REVELATION CLIMAX BOOK. That by far, hands down is the worst book in my opinion, followed close behind by such fecal gems as Your Youth - Getting the Best Out of It (The red one from the mid-mid 1970s - this book singularly contributed to a warped sense of puberty and sexuality that took nearly two decades to erase from my mental files), and any healthy combination of Fred Franz/Knorr deadwood books from the late 60s to the early 70s.

More bethel stories
by darth frosty ini was talking to a friend i was at bethel with and he mentioned something i had forgotten (for the sake of my sanity.
) we were there during the 90s and that was the transition of hair styles for black men, it was going from the fade to the baldy.
now bethel would cut your hair, you just had to wait four weeks between cuts.

ahhhh yes............remember those times well. I ended up getting my hair cut at the Nappy Roots barber shop on Fulton Ave, because of Bethel jackin' my "taper" up......

Colin Quakenbush and David Ianelli
by JWFreak inthese two have consistently been the "liberal" side to the writing dept.....who do you think are the hard liners...that change publications and articles to make them more restrictive.
there are definitely 2 camps in writing at the moment .
the new "keep yourselves in gods love", the original draft was so different to the final book....blood and disfellowshipping weren't even in the original draft.

I'm sure Smalley had something to do with it - he was and is a tight-ass. When I was at the house, Aulicino was a maverick who struck me as more liberal.

Bethel: Pathway to Apostasy
by Black Man inat the 'big house' you go either one of two ways, company man or apostate.
i think for many that went, it demystified the whole organization and you saw firsthand that there wasn't holy spirit influencing anything - only the muses of sheltered, out-of-touch old men and political bureaucrats.
i work in the corporate world and i saw just as much if not more politics in bethel.
